Lismore Seventh-Day Adventist School was opened at the beginning of the 1950 school year. The first teacher was Mrs Diedre Holmes.
A hall had been purchased in Alstonville, demolished and re-erected in Brewster Street behind the Seventh Day Adventist Church which then stood at the corner of Brewster and Uralba streets. The building was not completed for the beginning of the school year, so the children and their desks were located in the small room at the back of the church for a few weeks.
