Blue Hills College Facilities

Located on thirty acres of land, and only 8km from the Lismore CBD, Blue Hills College (BHC) boasts new, state-of-the-art facilities on its extensive rural campus.   A large amount of school land is dedicated to student recreation.  This space allows students to play and explore, learn and discover; create and be challenged.  A place they feel safe and secure.

Our Pre-Kindy classroom provides a vibrant and exciting learning environment that caters to the unique needs of little people.   With speciality play-ground equipment, large classrooms and a vegetable garden, our Pre-Kindy children are able to explore and learn in a safe and secure setting.

Large, air-conditioned classrooms create energetic learning environments for students from Pre-Kindy to Year 12.   A unique feature of our facilities is that they are designed to be used by students from Pre-Kindy right through to Year 12.

Additional to our well-equipped classrooms, our campus has two fully equipped, modern sized kitchens with stainless steel bench-tops, gas and electric stove-tops and ovens, sealed slip-proof floors and the latest technology in appliances.  The commercial kitchen meets industry standards.

Our refurbished Science laboratory provides a stimulating learning environment that includes modern apparatus as well as a German engineered fume cupboard.

The new Multi-purpose Centre (MPC) houses a full sized international standard basketball facility, including netball, volleyball and badminton courts.  In addition, a staffroom, two general learning area classrooms, uniform shop, canteen and commercial kitchen reside in the MPC.  This modern facility provides students and staff with a cutting-edge sports venue as well as effective work-spaces for essential student services.

Primary and secondary students have access to two fully networked computer labs.  Each lab is equipped with thirty PCs.  Data projectors are fixed in every secondary campus classroom.  This allows students every opportunity to engage in technology-rich learning.

The one-on-one laptop policy provides all students in Years 11 to 12 a personal laptop to enhance their learning experience.  This policy, in time will include students from Year 9 and 10. Fibre optic cabling and a wireless network provide staff and students with access to timely and valuable information no matter where they are on campus.

Our library subscribes to the world’s largest on-line library of books, Questia.com.  Questia provides 24/7 access to the world’s largest online collection of books and journal articles in the humanities and social sciences, plus magazine and newspaper articles.
