College Philosophy

Blue Hills College is a co-educational school in the City of Lismore.  We are concerned with providing a quality education which upholds family values, encourages respect for authority and fosters the overall development of each student.

Blue Hills College is committed to seeing each student develop a maximum potential in the spiritual, academic, physical and vocational aspects of life.  Students are helped to see themselves as individuals of great value, capable of living happy, productive lives.

Blue Hills College provides a Christian educational experience from Kindergarten to Year 10, based on a world view derived from a Seventh-day Adventist Christian faith.  This view begins with an eternal, loving and personal God who has always existed, is all-powerful and is the source of all life, truth, beauty and Christian values.

The staff of Blue Hills College are practicing Christians who are  committed to their task of educating in a caring Christian environment where the worth and personal development of each student is respected and enhanced.

The staff of Blue Hills College seeks the active co-operation of the home to help the students learn the basic tenets of Christianity and to empower them to apply these in their lives now and in the future.  We seek to inspire our students to take an active interest in making the community a better place to live in, to appreciate cultural and scientific advances and to develop positive attitudes towards others.

Blue Hills College is an independent Christian school and is open to all students without regard to their ethnic background, sex, national origin or religious affiliation.  Every attempt is made to accommodate disadvantaged students wherever possible.  All students are expected to live in harmony with the College's standards, show respect for Christian principles and attend religious classes and activities.
